About the Role
Teranet is currently looking for a Senior Application Support Specialist to support our Collateral Management Solutions (CMS) business. You will manage production environment incidents, service requests, problem management and root cause analysis. You will also be responsible for managing and implementing changes and releases to production environment. The successful candidate will quickly learn the details of complex systems and will troubleshoot, document, resolve problems, implement technical enhancements and maintenance repairs corresponding to business requirements and design modifications. Occasional overtime will be required for off hour on call production support. The position will be supplied equipment to permit work from home for off hour production support
What will you be doing
Ensure system availability to critical application and database servers through Incident and Problem investigation, root cause analysis and resolution
Promote and manage application changes and releases to production
Prepare and maintain technical documentation for application support
Create and maintain application support scripts such as Startup/shutdown scripts etc.
Manage production system change requests for patching and monitoring changes etc.
Conduct regular disaster recovery exercises, application system password changes and SSL certificate renewals
Perform basic application testing for post promotion infrastructure changes
Implementation and support of updated software applications in a production environment
Work closely with business teams to analyze and triage production issues
Manage and coordinate at a local and international level where required
Provide technical support to teams within the organization, and to external clients when required
You have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
You have minimum of 6 years’ experience in production support
You have experience and knowledge of Windows Server operations
You have an understanding and experience of ITIL and ITSM foundation frameworks
You have experience with SQL Server, Service Now, Solarwinds, AppDynamics, Control-M tools is desired
You are a good communicator
